Hallelujah! We Passed Final Inspection!
CDPHE Engineer Andy Poirot has approved our final inspection, closing out this ARRA project on time and within budget.
Many thanks to our financial team of Karen Frye, Sandy White, and Kerry Davidson for their attention to detail and for wrapping up the final inspection, and thanks again to Ed Duerr and Curt Thompson at Merrick Engineers and Tony Krempin at TopKnot Engineering, Brock Southwick and Walt Sinclair at Garney Construction, operators Jack Zielinski and Jim Kleeman, as well as Andy Poirot, Elise Masters, Elizabeth Pine, and Louanna Cruz at CDPHE. Last but not least, our kudos to Mayor Hershal Deputy and the Board of Trustees for their support over the past 2 years, Chuck Reid for his early vision that helped such an ambitious project become possible, Greg Winkler at DOLA for helping guide us with compliance, and Matt Sugar from Senator Mark Udall’s office for shepherding this project.
At our peak we had 18 people working on this project, including the Garney Construction team that rented rooms from the Stagecoach Inn for the season, giving the town an additional shot in the arm during some difficult economic times.
The new drinking water system is now producing clean, consistent drinking water for the Town of Hot Sulphur Springs with increased storage and safety for residents and visitors alike. We have moved from a cranky old system held together with constant tinkering to the newest, most high-tech water system in the Colorado High Country. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
