Project Timeline - Feb 2010

The construction and administration teams have developed this Project Timeline for February 2010. Outdoor construction will begin soon at the water tank site. We will update this web page with more information as it is available.

Construction/Engineering/Accounting Meeting

Our ARRA/Stimulus team is using our scheduled winter break from construction to focus on enhancing project communications and developing final construction details. Merrick Engineers hosted a team meeting last Wednesday 25Jan10. Included were:

· Mayor Hershal Deputy and town staff Sandy White and Kerry Davidson

· Town water plant Operator Jack Zielinski and ORC John MacWilliams

· Merrick Engineers Ed Duerr, Curt Thompson, George Cicoff, and John Smart

· Garney Construction Brock Southwick, Wayne O’Brien, Maria McCracken, Solange Huggins, Walt Sinclair, and Mike Graeve

· Grand Environmental Team Karen Frey, Cindy Southway, and Geoff Elliott

Getting everyone together gave us a chance to talk about progress to date, challenges, and the best ways to press forward in 2010. We aim to begin construction as early as possible this spring.

Our morning was focused on communications including reporting, Buy American compliance, invoicing, and scheduling regular website updates and meetings. A primary goal will be to prevent team members from getting buried in e-mails while keeping things dynamic.

Our afternoon meeting dove into more details on system design. Our designated filter manufacturer Siemens/Memcor continues to improve their product, which in turn triggers a number of engineering/design adjustments. Hot Sulphur Springs is indeed getting the latest and greatest in the world of water filters!
