Tank Construction Continues

Tank construction pace is accelerating as we are now “out of the ground” and finally getting great working weather.

The photo on the left shows Everest Concrete pouring the tank slab base on Tuesday , August 10.

The photo on the right shows the interior tank forms already in place by end of the week on August 13.

It is impressive to see the technology allowing us to pour such high walls, giving us a more solid tank product.

It is easy to see why Garney is considered the one of the best in the business.

Tank Installation Has Begun!

Now that the tank site has been excavated, Garney Construction lost no time in proceeding with concrete work.

The photo on the left was taken on Aug 2 and shows the initial pour for the “mud mat” placed directly on clean, solid bedrock.

The photo below shows the tank slab floor forms placed on the mud mat on August 4.

Many thanks to SMRC Dave Blanchette for guiding the structural nuances of the concrete work and to Kumar and Associates' Greg Demming and Steve Mulligan for regular materials testing including concrete quality control.

Solid as a rock we will be!
